Mark Your Calendars: Courage Speaks

I have been working with Safe Haven Ballet since 2017, and over the years they have done some truly incredible things for the survivor community. Safe Haven has raised over $100,000 for survivors since 2016, and has been offering a free trauma-sensitive arts program for survivors to help them express themselves through movement and art. You can read more about their mission here.

Safe Haven have also supported HAVEN, the largest violence prevention and support services agency in New Hampshire, with donations from the annual Be Brave Gala. It's no surprise that these two organizations would make natural partners, together with The Rep, for an upcoming event raising awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Read below for details, and I hope you consider attending!

Who: Safe Haven Ballet, HAVEN, and The Rep

What: Courage Speaks, a SAAM event

When: April 24th at 6:30 pm

Where: Seacoast Repertory Theatre, 125 Bow Street, Portsmouth NH

Why (the most important part): April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). This campaign raises public awareness about sexual assault as well as educates and supports survivors of sexual violence.

How (you can get involved): Join the Portsmouth community for an evening of art, performance, and community featuring the collective imagination and talent of Safe Haven Ballet along with other featured guests. Many of the artists at Safe Haven Ballet are survivors themselves and would truly appreciate your support at this event! Tickets are $40. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to Safe Haven Ballet or HAVEN.

Safe Haven Ballet is such a welcoming organization that is truly focused on helping survivors thrive. If you are interested in what they do, please visit their website and consider taking a class or supporting them on their upcoming tour of Beauty and the Beast! Details below.
