About

Let's Get Busy Talking Queer Issues in America (+ Beyond)

Do you ever feel like the world is on fire, and there is nothing you can do to fix it? I've felt that way most of my adult life. Sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, I can't help anyone or save anyone or make any difference at all.

Women, minorities, and LGBTQ+ people face threats daily in this country. As an LGBTQ+ woman, I feel these threats acutely, and I am sometime paralyzed by inaction caused by problems I could never tackle on my own. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by what we can't fix alone, I want us to focus on small, community-centered actions to break the paralysis and make the world a safer, more livable place for everyone.

That's why I created LGBTQIA+. The purpose of this movement is to inform the general public about issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups in America, and to encourage ordinary citizens to help by taking manageable, sustainable action on the local level. Our individual actions may only go the distance of a single step, but if we all put one foot in front of the other, eventually we will arrive in a better world together.

This website serves as a sounding board where I can talk about the action steps I've taken in my own community, and promote organizations, events, and people taking big steps everywhere.

I love to hear from you! Contact me below, and Let's Get Busy Talking.
